About Ying:

I was introduced to yoga in 2002 through soccer as a way to prevent sports injuries. A few years later, I rediscovered yoga as a way to help mitigate the stresses of work and traveling as a management consultant. I fell in love with the practice and chose to pursue a yoga teaching certification in order to speak intelligently about the benefits of yoga and share the practice with others. Since then, my personal yoga journey has evolved from a purely physical practice to include a more holistic awareness of the spiritual, historical, and meditative components taking me to study with teachers in India and all over the US.

I studied Ashtanga in Mysore, India under the traditional system with Saraswathi, daughter of Pattabhi Jois and a trailblazer as the first woman to teach yoga to a mixed gender class in India. Outside of Ashtanga, my teaching style can be summarized as a well-rounded Vinyasa sequence with emphasis on alignment and body awareness to prevent injury. The classes are heavily influenced by my Ashtanga practice for strength and breath connection combined with Iyengar alignment cues. I find great personal satisfaction from empowering students to discover and work with their edge; expect a lot of hands on adjustments!

About Bryan:

As a running coach, swim instructor, and high school mathematics teacher, I am extremely passionate about both education and movement. I initially turned to yoga as a supplement to long distance triathlon training and completed my initial 200hr training in India. After traveling and teaching around Asia for the next year I moved to Portland, Oregon in 2016. Since then I have completed an additional 150hr training under the direction of Scott Lennartz. I believe our experience on our mat reflects how we handle ourselves in the outside world. I highlight these experiences through dynamic movement, strength building, intelligent alignment and subtle refinements. If we train the body, the mind will follow. I bring high energy, creativity, and humor into all my classes with the goal of expanding our awareness towards our habitual tendencies. By increasing our awareness towards these tendencies we are able to eventually break through them and lead more wholesome, meaningful lives.

About Linda:

Linda was first licensed for massage therapy in Oregon in 1998, she is a certified Yomassage™ therapist and a Certified Imagination Yoga teacher. Using her working understanding of musculoskeletal anatomy along with her experience in massage, she has been able to empower clients that they are the expert on their own bodies. Linda has a demonstrated history of working in the health wellness and fitness industry, nonprofit organizations, trend analysis, coaching, sales, and marketing. Linda’s core values are centered around community building, self-development education and sharing resources.
